Blackout Jackpot 9 will be held February 28 - March 2, 2025! The show will take place at The Ranch Mac Equipment, Inc. Indoor Arena in Loveland, Colorado! This 3 Show Weekend is fully powered by The Showtimes! There will be 3 Steer Shows, 3 Market Heifer Shows, 3 Heifer Shows, Showmanship, Livestock Judging Contest, Show and Win Prizes, Mystery Boxes, Stall Bid Off, Scholarships and Internships! HISTORY - The Blackout Jackpot was created by The Showtimes Magazine back in 2012 as a Steer Jackpot! In 2014 Blackout returned as a Steer and Heifer Jackpot that was held in conjunction with the Green & Gold Showdown. It would be held in consecutive years from 2014 - 2019 ending with the Blackout 7. Through the first seven shows, Blackout awarded well over $100,000 in cash and prizes, awarded 43 Scholarships totaling $26,750 and have 29 states represented! Four different photographers have been used including Big Star, Legacy Livestock Imaging, Cindy and The Showtimes! Past judges include Bob May, Joel Judge, Amanda Schnoor, Brad Winegardner, Matt Leo, Brandon Callis, Jim Williams, Josh Elder, Randy Daniel, Mark & Deb Core, Mark Hoge, Nate Tice, Tim Schaeffer, Travis Otterstad and Baylor Bonham! There were also 3 livestock judging contests totaling over 560 livestock judgers. Each show had nearly 400 cattle per year! 3 Blackout Champion Steers have gone on to win the American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri! 1 Blackout Champion Steer went on to win the Colorado State Fair! Three years later, Blackout 8 was held in 2022 and brought in judges Dan and Mark Hoge as well as Dave Duello! Darla and Kane Aegerter judged showmanship. Darla also helped us take backdrop photos throughout the show. The show was live streamed with The Showtimes Live and featured industry leading motion graphics and effects! Our total Scholarships after Blackout 8 we had awarded $35,638.88 to 57 recipients! Blackout has also allowed us to work with 19 awesome interns to date!

BLACKOUT 9  - On April 5, 2024 The Showtimes announced that Blackout 9 would be held February 28 - March 2, 2025 at The Ranch! This will be a 3 show weekend fully powered by The Showtimes! There will be an exciting new third show added on February 28th called the Friday Night Lights Out Show. This show will have the Steers and Market Heifers showing in one ring while the Heifers show in the other ring at the same time. Every animal will show by weight with the top two being selected. There will be a two ring Heifer Show on Saturday followed by Showmanship. A two ring Steer Show and a two ring Market Heifer Show will be held on Sunday. Market Heifers will be shown by weight with the top 3 overall selected. Steers and Heifers will be shown by breed and the top 5 overall selected. There will be 6 different Judges/Set of Judges TBA plus 2 different Judges/Set of Judges for Showmanship. We have big plans for Blackout Jackpot 9 that will be announced in the coming months!
