Blackout Jackpot 8 will be held March 18-20, 2022 at The Ranch in Loveland, Colorado!

It will be held with the Green & Gold Showdown as a two ring steer and heifer show. Dan and Mark Hoge will be judging the Heifers and Dave Duello will be sorting the Steers and Market Heifers! 

Our show is open to the world! Plus, there are no exhibitor age restrictions! Breeding Heifers need registration papers or they show in the Commercial Division. Papers do not need to be in the exhibitor's name. Steers and Market Heifers will be weighed. You will call your own Steer Breeds. 

Blackout 8 will be held with the Green & Gold Showdown. There will be two rings; Green & Gold Ring and the Blackout 8 Ring. Entries will go live online in early 2022. When you enter it includes entry for both shows! You must exhibit in both rings. In addition to our Heifer, Steer and Market Heifer Shows, there will also be Showmanship, Full Livestock Judging Contest, Stall Bid-Off and more to be announced.

The Showtimes is the official Show Photographer of Blackout 8 and the Green & Gold Showdown! We will also be joined by Darla Aegerter and her team! 

The Blackout 8 Stall Bid-Off will be held March 7 2022 on Show Cattle Connection! Money raised will go towards scholarships at the show! More details will be announced soon!

HEIFER SHOW ORDER + BREEDS - Angus, AOB, Charolais, Composite Charolais, Chianina, Horned Hereford, Polled Hereford, Limousin, Maine-Anjou, MaineTainer, Maine Angus, Miniature Hereford, Red Angus, Shorthorn, ShorthornPlus, Simmental, % Simmental and Commercial.

MARKET HEIFER SHOW - Market Heifers will be a crossbred show, shown by weight. It will be it's own show. They will not show against the steers.

HISTORY - The Blackout Jackpot was created by The Showtimes Magazine back in 2012 as a Steer Jackpot! In 2014 Blackout returned as a Steer and Heifer Jackpot that was held in conjunction with the Green & Gold Showdown. It would be held in consecutive years from 2014 - 2019 ending with the Blackout 7. Through the first seven shows, Blackout awarded well over $100,000 in cash and prizes, awarded 43 Scholarships totaling $26,750 and have 29 states represented! Four different photographers have been used including Big Star, Legacy Livestock Imaging, Cindy and The Showtimes! Past judges include Bob May, Joel Judge, Amanda Schnoor, Brad Winegardner, Matt Leo, Brandon Callis, Jim Williams, Josh Elder, Randy Daniel, Mark & Deb Core, Mark Hoge, Nate Tice, Tim Schaeffer, Travis Otterstad and Baylor Bonham! There were also 3 livestock judging contests totaling over 560 livestock judgers. Each show had nearly 400 cattle per year! 3 Blackout Champion Steers have gone on to win the American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri! 1 Blackout Champion Steer went on to win the Colorado State Fair!

The Showtimes announced the return of Blackout in May of 2022! We are excited to host Blackout 8 along side Kyndal Reitzenstein and the CSU Livestock Judging Team in 2022!
